This Site is dedicated to all those families of the people that have tragically disappeared on flights in and around New Zealand. I only hope that from all the effort in building this site and from all the effort of those taking part in this venture, that it will bear fruit in bringing ‘closure’ to their memories!

To add any different GPS models to the EasyGPS program, all you need to do is click
on “Edit” - “Preferences” - “Add GPS”:

I developed this system up to this point, and my intention was to just to press the
“Find” button on my Garmin 60 CSx handheld and walk towards this point, but it was
at this stage that Nathan Mauchline worked out a better system (Well done Nathan!).
By scrolling through the pages on the Garmin GPSmap 60CSx, you come to the “Main
Menu” page, and then select “Routes”. On the “Routes” page select “New” - press
“enter” twice and you will then see “Waypoints”.
Press the “Enter” button again and then the “Quit” button which will then put you
into the “All Symbols List” showing the numbered Waypoints that have been transferred
into your GPS.
From there you need to scroll to the Waypoint you require and then press the “Enter”
button.
Then press “Enter” again (selecting the “Use” button on the screen)
and then of course
select (in this case) Waypoint 2 and then “Enter” (Use) again
And once again “Enter” selecting the “Navigate” screen button.
This will then give you a line on the screen to walk along.
Nathan said that he found it was easiest to walk to one side of the line and then
you always knew which side of the line you were on.
This method does take more time to set up than just taking headings and walking to
that heading, but I do feel it is really worth the effort as you have a much more
thorough search pattern.
